Here are some answers to frequently asked questions we've had over the years...fyi...
Please feel free to ask about anything that we may have missed.

Taking a boat (ferry) vrs flying over to San Pedro from the International Airport?
The water taxi's are located in Belize City which is an hour's drive from the International Airport where you fly in. The boat ride is approx an hour and a half depending on how crowded the boat is (they pack them in sometimes). They will sometimes stop at Caye Caulker (our neighboring Caye to the south) before coming to San Pedro. The flight is 15-20 minutes from International to San Pedro and is very scenic. They also stop at Caye Caulker the odd time which only takes a couple extra minutes. Although it costs a little more to fly than to boat over, it's a question of time vrs money and comfort level. We can recommend a water taxi if you prefer this mode of travel. We are also agents for Tropic Air and can book your tickets for you when you are ready; we would need the names of each one traveling, and arrival-departure dates-times.
Electricity?
We are on 115V. same as Canada and the USA
INSECTS
Yes we have mosquito's and sand flies (no-seeums) in San Pedro! Bring along your skin-so-soft or other repellent for day time use. Remember that perfumes and colognes tend to attract mosquitoes!
What to Bring/Not to Bring?
During the winter months you will appreciate having a light wind-breaker, especially after a dive or snorkel and possibly in the evenings. Even the most up-scale restaurants here do not require you to "dress-up". Casual wear is completely acceptable. Don't forget your bathing suit! It's advisable to leave your expensive jewelry at home instead of risking it getting snagged, broken or lost at the bottom of the ocean.
Children in the Pool?
The shallow end of the pool is a little over 5 feet deep, so parents must accompany their children. No infants in the pool please.
Toddlers must be toilet trained and wear the appropriate attire.
Taxi Fares run from $5 to $7US for a 1 way trip from/to town. If Drivers are handling a lot of luggage for you they should be tipped appropriately. By the way, real Taxis have GREEN Licence Plates
Golf Carts Golf carts are the main source of transportation in San Pedro. They can be rented for about $200US per week and can sit 4 or 6. The six seater's are a little more. We can arange these for you. It is a good Idea. Gives you freedom to explore and are fun to drive around town.
Cost of restaurants There 2 types of restaurants. The local foods restaurants and the 'tourist' restaurants The local foods are cheaper. A rice and beans dinner cost as little a $4.00 per person. Many make great fish dinners and so on. The food can be great. The tourist restaurants with the higher class menus are more expensive.
Groceries Groceries, If you like the brand name american products are expensive. For example. Jiffy peanut butter can cost twice as much as a mexican or local brand that is just as good. If you buy local or mexican products that are just as good the cost can go to half. Also knowing where to shop is a great asset. We do talk to about all this when we book you in. There are also great wine stores here if you like.
Tipping?
Typically in San Pedro, good service in a restaurant warrants a 15% tip.
